The Study Supplement is an optional element of the course that we provide for classroom teachers and for others looking to build their fluency in Spanish, Italian and German. It is not included in the basic price of a subscription. It consists of listening exercises based on segments of each month's audio program as well as grammar and vocabulary exercises. All answers are provided. It is arranged in an eight-page booklet (8.5 inches by 14 inches (215mm by 355mm)).

In the summer of 2004, we introduced a new study supplement for our French program called Champs-Elysées Plus that includes an audio component and a smaller, reformatted printed booklet.

The Audio Flash Cards are an optional extra to accompany each edition of Puerta del Sol (starting with issue XII, 4) and Acquerello italiano(starting with issue XI, 6) and Schau ins Land (starting with issue 19-01). The Audio Flash Cards are a very useful addition for helping to assimilate the key vocabulary from the main program. They comprise approximately 100 words and phrases from the program. Native speakers record these words and pause long enough for you to have an opportunity to repeat them. A spoken English translation follows, so that you can be sure of not just the pronunciation of the words, but their English meanings as well. After all 100 words have been presented, we run through them again, this time speaking the English words first and giving you a chance to say the Spanish or Italian word or phrase, so you can check how much you've learned. A listing of the words and their translations is included in the transcript booklet.
